Having completed post-graduation in internal medicine from JNMC, A.M.U., Aligarh, Dr. Bela Sharma served in the IAF for 5 years as a SSC officer. Thereafter she worked as Physician Nephrologist in Command hospital, Chandi Mandir and SUT Hospital Thiruvanantpuram.

Presently DR. Bela Sharma is working as Additional Director, Internal Medicine in FMRI, Gurgaon where she heads the department of Preventive Healthcare and Lifestyle Medicine.

Health education and awareness has always been a passion for this doctor. It came to fore as a parent of a transgender child. She is keen to share her experiences and knowledge with other parents on the personal front, and help them overcome the health related issues as a professional.

Her other interests include reading, writing, cooking, sketching and miniature paintings.
