Her clinical work has incorporated the use of Trauma-Focused CBT as well as other evidence-based psychological treatment such as EMDR, Prolonged Exposure and more recently Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for the treatment of Complex Trauma.

Since her years as a trainee psychiatrist, she has had an interest in the assessment and management of psychological trauma and has been providing assessments and medico-legal reports in the field since 2000.

Since 2009, when she moved to Tayside from Lothian to broaden her clinical experience, she has worked also with newer models for chronic depression using CBT as well as mindfulness and an evolving model for Chronic Depression – CBASP, which is being evaluated for the first time in the UK in her department.

She also, see a fair number of clients for purposes of medical reports.  She finds the work rewarding as apart from having the opportunity to act as an expert witness, it allows her to maintain an interest in all the related aspects of medicine, not just psychiatry or psychotherapy which are her areas of expertise.
